ChromaSoftware White Balance

White Balance plugin is designed for color correction of the image files. User can choose to use automatic correction by clicking on a neutral color in the preview image, or use manual control to correct the image color. When user chooses the automatic correction, the plugin analyzes the selected color and attempts to modify the image in a such a way that selected color becomes neutral. It will also mark which color curve it is applying to the image by putting a cross on the color wheel.
The cross on the color wheel can be moved either by dragging it with the mouse, by moving the sliders or by typing in the desired value. The changes are instantly visible on the preview.
If the photo doesn't contain neutral colors, or you would prefer to do correction manually, analyze the overall color cast of the image. Then, move the cross to the opposite side of the determined color: if you determine that photo has a purple cast, move the cross toward green. If photo has been taken in shade, it will have a blue cast. Move the cross towards yellow.

The desired color correction can be saved as a preset. Simply click on 'Save' button and name the preset. The saved preset can be recalled by using 'Load' button.
The letters under the preview indicate the original RGB value under the dropper and RGB value after it has been corrected.

The word about the controls:

Zoom + / -
Use the buttons to zoom in and out of the preview. Zoomed preview can be scrolled by dragging the preview with right mouse button: press the right mouse button over the zoomed preview image and move the mouse.

Preview
You can toggle the preview of the changes: with preview on you will see what final result is going to look like, with preview off you see the original image. Useful when the color correction is subtle.

Dropper size
Here you can select how plugin analyzes the color you want to use as neutral. When 3x3 is selected (default), the plugin will sample the area 3 pixels wide and 3 pixels high to determine the average color. When 1x1 is selected, only the color of the pixel directly under the dropper is used. Useful when the area of interest is small.

Load/Save
Enables you to store and recall the presets. Useful when you have several images with the same color cast.

Manual control
Here you can manually set the correction curve.

Reset
Resets all the parameters to 'no correction' state.

Color wheel and sliders
Manually controls the color cast of the image. To fine-tune the values, use the sliders: hue (the angle of the cross) determines the color cast and saturation (the distance of the cross to center) determines the amount of correction. Closer the cross is to the center, less correction is applied - the very center of the wheel has no color. It's gray
